No both kickers were angling the balls, They said several times that the kicker that had hit the screen did it on purpose. I'm sure you've heard this too.

Wouldn't you?

Jerrah world flawed.

Saw this on another forum regarding Cactus League signings:

I have be going out to AZ with my kids for Cactus League baseball for the past 12 Spring Breaks. Access to players varies significantly from team to team--some have great access at morning practices, others not so much. We have had some of our best luck with big name players at morning workouts. Below are a few observations/tips for the teams you mentioned.

A's: Your best opportunity for the A's is inside Phoenix Municipal Stadium. The tunnel that leads to the field and dugout (A's dugout on the 1st base side) is one of the better spots, also down the line near the bullpen. You can also get the visiting team as the arrive and/or leave the stadium on the 3rd base side--team bus and cars for the visiting team are in the public lot. The visiting team locker room entrance is on the third base side of the stadium--be ready, it can be a zoo out there.

Rockies: Hi-Corbett Field in Tucson is great for autographs. The Rockies exit the clubhouse on the first base side of the stadium to get to the practice fields and their cars. You will see the crowd gathered. Also, visiting players who leave the game early exit the visiting locker room in the 3rd base concourse. Visiting teams from the Phoenix area typically arrive early and practice on one of the outer practice fields. It is easy pickings out there.

Dodgers: There is limited access to players on the Dodger practice fields at Camelback Ranch. It is hit and miss at the practice field. We did manage to get Martin, Billingsley, Kemp, Ethier, Torre, Mattingly, and Maury Wills, among others, at the practice fields. Manny signed in the stadium before the game. Inside the stadium the Dodgers dugout is on the 3rd base side. Prime autograph spots near the dugout fill-up quickly after the gates open. Also, members of the media enter the press area from the concourse behind home plate. [Note: Access to the White Sox practice fields at Camelback is scarce--at least when we were there.]

Padres: The Peoria facility is pretty good for autographs. Players home & away enter the field from the right field corner. A number of autograph seeks line the back fence in this area--access from the right field lawn area. The Padres use the 1B dugout; the Mariners use the 3B dugout. It has been a few years (2 or 3) since we have gone to the Padres practice fields, but the last time we went access was pretty good.

Royals: The Surprise Complex is home to both the Rangers and Royals. Being Rangers season ticket holders we spend more time on the Rangers practice fields--very good access to players. Inside the dugout there are a few prime areas--dugouts (Royals use the 3B dugout; Rangers use the 1B dugout). Teams using the 3B dugout often enter the field from a tunnel directly behind home plate--this can be a good spot. Teams using the 1B dugout enter from a point in right field--the wall is pretty high near the entry; sometimes you can get players as they walk down the right field line. Visiting teams often arrive early for workouts on the practice fields--Rangers opponents practice on one of the Royals fields; Royals opponents practice on the Rangers side.

Keep in mind that pitchers not scheduled to throw in the game will probably leave the facility after their morning workout or during the game. Players usually leave the field and the facility once they come out of a game in ST. You can often get these players leaving the field or the clubhouse--depending on the facility set-up.

Finally, make sure you know each stadiums rules for what you can and cannot bring into the ballpark. It can vary from park to park.

These are just a few quick observations from our dozen years heading out to AZ. We'll be out there 17-21 March. Hope you have a great time.

I can give you tips on pretty much any ST park except the Dodgers/White Sox park (haven't been there yet) if your interested in getting autographs.

The Stew A's ad is him giving tips on how to give a good stare. I'm not an auto hound, but I'd be getting BA's, Carter's, Taylor's and Suzuki's.

Rosales and Sweeney and Devine's are going for around $10-15.

Only way I can get them since I don't get to go to games as often.

I always grab a couple of trading cards, put them in protectors, grab a sharpie, and put them in my backpack when I make the trip to the Coliseum.

I'm not a hound at all, if it happens it happens. Autos are cool for kids and there's nothing cooler than seeing a MLB player giving his attention to a youngin'.

I've got the cards handy..never know who you'll bump into.

Nice.

Getting them in person is the way to go or putting a card in the mail w/ a return stamped envelope.

Color looks really yellow. Still moving things into my new house and I don't have the best of light. I get all of my autographs on official Bud Selig balls or official AL/NL balls.

Gotta love this hobby! Next thing I'm working on is getting all of my Oakland A's autograph cards in a big wall frame.
